For years we've posted and read postings saying that the cartridges many of us offer are at least as good as the OEM and superior to those sold by most large office supply operations.
R.I.T.'s Imaging Lab should now have the data to test our contentions. They have a huge
database on both the OEM's and our products.
I assume that no remanufacturer would send a low end cartridge to RIT. So, their data should be derived from testing our best.
How about someone at one of the vendors, or ITC contact RIT about this. It should be a very simple task to average the results for each cartridge type of the OEM product and the same cartridges sent in by folks like us who have already paid for testing.
Comparisions could be made on page count, failures-out-of box, density, etc. - the same ones they currently report.
RIT now compares our product to the OEM, why not also compare it to the average of all remanufactured cartridges tested within a given year?
RIT could provide the results as a supplement to the cartridges already tested to those who bought the testing.
It would also be great information for ITC and an article in their mag.
