it does not surprise me that staples has withdrawn from the compatible toner & inkjet market.
we have had several opportunities to tear down a STaples brand toner, and wow...what a mess.
whoever manufacturered these for STaples, reminded me of toner produced by Lexmark. The parts are specially machined. The parts were not typical of main stream vendors.
We made money on repairs to printers who the customer used Staples brand. And it was always the toner cartridge that caused the problem.
I noted several nicely evasive statements in the Lyrca article about the toners & inkjets.
Perhaps these were the toners that HP said in their ads that did not measure up to their standards.
Its not wonder people go back to OEM, the sloppiness is still out there, and will never go away, as long as the cottage supplier does a good snow job on the customer, and sells at ridiculously low prices.
Some of the inkjet refill places in our area, I have heard a few horror stories from Variety Stores that refill.
