I am trying to repair customer's
HP P3005
printer, which has with very faded print. The image on paper is VERY faded to the point that I can't even see it unless looking at it very closely. And, only the darker portion of image can be found on page.
At first, I thought that it didn't print anything ( because the image is hardly visible ), so I put in my working HP2400 scanner unit, but with no success of course. Then I discovered that the
printer actually did print, but it just REALLY faded.
The problem began with "install cartridge" error, which the
printer couldn't determain 2 different cartridges. Later I found the problem was the aftermarket conversion waste hopper kit I have on them. However, the 3rd one with this kit worked. Then, I found the problem of faded print on the working cartridge. I have also tried OEM cartridges with same result.
Does it sound like weak charging to PCR from
printer???? Could it be the power supply unit of
printer?
