Post extremely low coverage print solution?

Hi all. Seems to be lots of knowledge here so here goes...

I'm printing extremely low coverage and the toners seem to die long before they run out of toner. Calculation shows average 0.095% coverage on 11x17 paper. I'm running the LaserJet 9050 with the c8543x cartridges and going through about 20 OEM per month. Removing the chips only prints 100 or so more pages before excess toner blotches and vertical lines start ruining output. I am getting about 30,000/cart but with such low coverage and left over I'm hoping there's a way to get more?

maybe something can be done about the toners? Maybe I need another printing solution? Ink Jet? If switching printers, I could also run with 22x17 paper instead of 11x17 but at the same 0.095 coverage.

Any ideas? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
