Post P2015 / P3005 PCR Contact / Printer Problems

I have two different customers with two different printers that have had the same problem.

One customer has a P2015 and the other has a P3005 printer.

The common problem is that intermittently, and usually in the middle of a large print run, the begin to see irregular, non repetitive, horizontal black streaks. They remove the cartridge and replace it and the defect goes away.

I have gone to each customer's site and tested the cartridge on their printer and cannot repeat the defect. The cartridges print fine.

My suspicion is that the cartridges are springing a bit loose from their fully seated position and the cartridge pcr contact is not interfacing properly with the printer's contact.

1. would a poor pcr contact create the defect I am describing? Sorry - don't have pictures to share - customer said printed data was "proprietary".

2. if it is a pcr defect, and it is caused by a poor cartridge - printer interface, is there something we are doing in the cartridges remanufacture to cause this? Since the problem has only been seen (reported) on these two printers I am suspicious that there is about these printers manufacture that is causing this - perhaps user error where the operator (women in this case) is not full inserting the cartridge at install (being too gentle).

thanks
