Recently I was talking to a customer and they were telling me the kind of great deals they are getting on the original OEM cartridges. The deals were really good, so I had to reduce the prices I was charging for my remans to get the customer to buy from us. We visited their office and picked up a bunch of OEM virgin
HP 05A cartridges (hooray!).
When it came time to remanufacture the cartridges, we learned that every single one of those virgin cartridges were already remanufactured before and quite badly. The retaining blade and mag sealing blades were consistently creased at the edges as the parts were being removed.
I also have recently picked up what looked like virgin
HP 27X cartridges, but upon opening them up noticed a little sticker on the inside of the cartridge that said "Cartridge Service". Other than that, all the parts were original and there were no markings on the outside of the cartridge letting anyone know that the cartridges were remanufactured.
I am going to speak to my customer to get a better idea of where she was buying these "OEM" cartridges for such a great deal, in the mean time pay attention when your customer is telling you that they can get the original OEM cartridge for much less that you are charging for a reman (or your reman price is just too much
