With our marketing, we often run into companies who are reluctant to try re-manufactured cartridges, because they believe that it will damage their machines, or void their warranty.
I'm looking for some information I can
reference to help prove to them that it is illegal for someone to void their warranty, and that re-manufactured cartridges do not damage their machines. Here are some examples I've come up with, I'm looking for more (and better) ones.
“Ford Motor Company and Union Carbide purchase
re-manufactured
toner cartridges, saving a combined total of $300,000
per year.”

Will refilling void my warranty?
No!
No company, by law in Canada and the U.S., can sell a product and then force the customer to buy further products from them in order to ensure their warranty remains valid. This is a practice referred to as "tied selling" and is forbidden by the Competition Act in Canada. The only valid way that a company could require you to use only brand name cartridges would be to supply you with all the cartridges you need at no charge for the duration of the warranty (and they are not about to do this).
If you look closely at the warranty of any
printer, you'll see that damage resulting from the use of a non-name-brand cartridge is not covered by the warranty, but in no way does using refilled cartridges void the entire warranty.
