Okidata C3530 AIO Printer

A customer of ours has been using our compatible toner cartridges for her Okidata C3530 AIO printer in the last few months. We get these cartridges from Denxx (not quite sure whether they are a sponsor here) in Canada.
The customer recently received a RFID Reader Error stating "Q31: Fatal Error 03". She contacted Okidata, and the technician there reckoned it a communication error and (not surprisingly) that the compatible cartridges were at fault.
Your assistance in identifying the root cause and resolving the problem would be highly appreciated.
I hope there is no permanent damage to the printer and no costly repair is needed!
