Hi there,
Had a call from a customer who was referred to us with a paper jam. I thought this would be simple. Well it wasn't!
After I finally pried open the side door, I discovered, what I believe is, the upper pressure roller to be the culprit. Now here is my problem, how did a simple paper jam force this roller out of place like this?
There were about 4 sheets of paper jammed under the fuser. I see no way for this to have caused this kind of damage.
I do not know much about laser
printers but think this could be an easy fix.
1. Is replacing the entire fuser the proper solution?
2. Or is replacing just the roller a reasonable fix?
However, the bigger question is what would cause this? I didn't see anything there, like a paper clip, or anything broken or anything blatantly obvious to cause this. Wouldn't want to replace anything only for this to happen again.
Is this just from normal wear and tear and it just finally gave out?
If I'm wrong in any of my assessments or thinking, please remember I trying to learn. I down loaded the Manuel for this machine and looked at the schematic to get my facts/thoughts in order. So, if I miss-spoke., I apologize for my inexperience.
Sorry for the bad pic's. I had to use my phone to take these.
Thanks for the help.
