This problem was discussed in an earlier post (see below) but that discussion digressed into some unabashed hilarity pertaining to low price comps. and I decided to start another post to make sure that anybody truly interested in this topic might benefit from it.

To review, we identified the magenta cart. as the culprit and, more specifically, the drum in the magenta cart. Discussed with a tech at Future Graphics. He was familiar with the problem and told us that they found that small (even microscopic) defects in the drum caused a short between the drum and the PCR and somehow it affects all of the other carts. precipitating the bands of color shown in the attachment. It may seem farfetched but it does correlate with the fact that we did observe small scratches that penetrated the coating on the drums of the problem carts. every time we saw this problem (3X). For what it's worth.........
