I'm sure you guys have all been following the toner
bomb terrorist attempt and the transport security mess that's followed it.
Latest is that the UK's Royal Mail has banned all ink and toner
cartridges over 500g from its national and international airmail deliveries.
They say this follows on from the UK's ban of cartridges, but that only covered passenger flights. The US has put a similar ban in place.
What does everyone think of all these bans? More importantly, is anyone running into difficulties because of it?
Personally it all seems like a case of "closing the stable door after the horse has bolted".
I very much doubt the terrorists are going to try another cartridge bomb at all, let alone days after the first attempt.
Plus what's next? Are we going to ban every item that can be made into a bomb?
What do you guys think?
