HI All,

Just shooting out ideas on the best way everyone here has to get new customers and clients. We all know that word of mouth is best but when you want to grow more what techniques and sales tactics are you doing?

Has anyone had good sucess with hiring a sales person?

Cold Calling?

Door to door?

Hiring an outsourced company overseas?

Google marketing adwords?

Networking meetings?

We have tried the following;

hiring an outsourced company in india = poor results and wasn't worth the money spent. Probably due to a language barrier

Google marketing - too much competition and the prices on the internet are so low its not worth competing.

we tried hiring commission based employees but its hard to get someone willing to work on strictly commission. We might try a salary based employee with a quota.

networking meetings and door to door have been the best for us but we find it very time consuming. We do get the most sales out of it but takes a lot of time. For every 200 flyers we hand out to businesses we get about 1-2 calls.

Has anyone tried marketing through faxing a lot of companies?

We are home based and we are thinking of getting a warehouse/retail space but not sure if its worth the investment and overhead headaches.
looking forward to everyones replies.
