Post Is our industry still GREEN focused?

From the beginning and through the years, our industries primary "byproduct" was environmental savings. While saving customers money, we helped the environment without even trying. And the interesting thing is, MOST environmental efforts then AND now costs more or requires more efforts from the consumer. We were ahead of the GREEN industry buzz and saving those that participated!

Our industry was founded on this and was a major benefit we promoted to our customers. Now that the GREEN industry is one of the booming industries, where are we in it? What is our impact as an industry now that GREEN is big business?

While discussing how other GREEN services could be offered to existing customers, I received some feedback that it has no relation to what we do. I found this response odd. So I started thinking about it and realize, it may be so for some, perhaps for many. For many products, new compatibles are much cheaper then the cost to build/acquire their equivalent remanufactured products. Including these new products in your offerings has it's advantages but what is the impact on the GREEN focus our industry was founded on? Do you feel your company has an impact on the environment? Did it change from what it use to be? Is our industry as a whole growing of shrinking it's impact on the environment?

Let me know your thoughts.
