In the UK we're seeing high street chains and independent stores closing by the bucket load. The more you read and see it paints a bad picture for high street retailing here as the tax dodging Amazons take over.
We're actually doing ok, footfall is down slightly and it is certainly a harder business to run now but we're managing to just about match our figures year on year somehow.
However, things like increasing cost / lack of empties, councils increasing war on the car in our area with massive hikes in parking charges and internet competition is making things tough.
I'd be interested to know many of you trade online, when you started and how it works for you. I'm assuming price is a huge factor when selling online?
we have been selling online but it is very, very slow.
