Here is something-else that we have been doing for years with steady, if not spectacular success:
1) We give coupons to the Welcome Wagon ladies in the areas in which we deliver to distribute to new families moving in. We figure that at least one person in the family works locally.
2) We also give coupons to local rental agents to give to companies moving into commercial space. Once a month we check to see who has moved in to commercial space and give them a "Welcome to the area. Did the agent give you our coupon?" call.
I think it is good practive to have a number of marketing/sales activities that touch different segments that are "no brainers" and can be done by clerical people as a regular activity.
I am looking for my colleagues here on the Forum to share some of the off-beat stuff that they do too.
Regards,
Chip
