Kodak printer ad misleading, says ASA

Kodak may no longer run advertisements in the UK claiming that its all-in-one printer saves users an average of £75 per year on ink, the Advertising Standards Authority has declared.

Following complaints by the public and other printer manufacturers, the ASA looked into Kodak's claim to determine if it was misleading. Upon reviewing Kodak's research, the ASA ruled that the claims were indeed misleading and the ads could not run again in their current form.

Government announces new rules after cargo bomb plot

A minor upgrading of security restrictions have been announced preventing air travellers from carrying printer cartridges onto aircraft in hand baggage after last week's terror alert.

Home secretary Teresa May told the House of Commons that the government was working with the security industry on new ways of detecting suspect devices.

Revealed: Printer cartridge bomb had travelled on two passenger planes before it was discovered

A COMPUTER engineering student and her mother were grilled by intelligence officers yesterday over a chilling plot to blow up planes.

Student Hanan al-Samawi, 22, and her 45-year-old mother were arrested after security forces swooped on their home in Sanaa, capital of Yemen.

It is claimed that the student was traced because her phone number was on at least one of the packages.

Meanwhile, it emerged one of the two bombs found hidden in printer toner cartridges had been carried on two passenger planes.
